MakerBeam blog: Think - Build - Enjoy

Voron 3Dprinter, update 7

Voron 3Dprinter, update 7 We are working hard cutting longer lengths into 200mm MakerBeamXL lengths. However it is impossible to create stock. Every beam is sold right after we cut it. These beams are sold to our resellers and business customers. In order to give you as a customer a chance we will make the 200mm visible again. You can order, but it will take time before you will get the beams. We will create a waiting list and keep you posted.

Voron 3Dprinter, update 5

Voron 3Dprinter, update 5 We were out of stock for the 200mm MakerBeamXL black anodised and only recently started to cut and tap our own beams. To improve our quality control we use a precision surface plate, an engineer try square and a 500mm caliper. With these items we trust to be able to ship out accurate cut lengths rather than pretty good cut lengths.

Voron 3Dprinter, update 4

Voron 3Dprinter, update 4 We were out of stock for the 200mm MakerBeamXL black anodised and only recently started to cut and tap our own beams. We focused on getting the cuts done and shipping the beams because of demand. Quality control got squashed somewhere in between. A few customers have come forward showing us beams that are not up to par and should not have been shipped. They will receive (a) new set(s) of beams. Right now we are focusing on improvement of our quality control.

Voron 3Dprinter, update 3

Voron 3Dprinter, update 3 As mentioned we were surprised by the sudden influx in demand for the 200mm MakerBeamXL black anodised. Last Thursday April 9 we were sold out. New stock would come in June. A long wait. So we decided to have some beams cut at a different facility nearby and buy our own machinery for cutting and tapping. Normally our beams are cut and packed somewhere else. We thought we would be able to cater our customers and as a bonus we would finally be able to offer customers custom cut lengths at the end of this Voron ride.

A few days on and now we can say we underestimated the whole process and we are sorry to say that there are customers who are the unfortunate witnesses of our learning curve.
