Acrobot meets MakerBeamXS

Acrobot meets MakerBeamXS

Meet the Micro Acrobot. MakerBeamXS inspired Daniel Simu to build a Micro Acrobot. He built a tiny robot toy combining MakerBeamXS, 3D prints, aluminium tubes and an acrylic panel. It has the same joints, hands and feet as it's big brother. This allows you to pose it for the same tricks. A really fun design from Daniel Simu.

Acrobot meets MakerBeamXS is Micro Acrobot

Isn't this the cutest tiny robot? This posable desk toy combines the MakerbeamXS, 3d prints, aluminium tubes and an acrylic panel, and is sold as merchandise in DIY kit form.

The micro Acrobot is a miniature version of the robot acrobat built by Daniel Simu. They perform handstands and other tricks all over the world, as you can see in this video:

Its tiny sibling does not have any motors, but it does have the same amount of joints, the same hands and feet, and can be posed to do the same tricks.

The design makes clever use of the extrusion slots to hold a 1mm thick piece of acrylic, and the tiny makerbeamXS nuts are also used to attach the 3d printed joints.

Daniel sells them as a kit that you can assemble yourself, if that interests you, head over to his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/simu.circus/reel/Dd5-PedNrAm/
